By using the En retard, chef website (enretardchef.fr), you accept these terms. They are short and written in plain words. For your personal data, see the Privacy & cookies page; for the publisher and the host, the legal notice.
1. The service
En retard, chef is an unofficial and free website, with no sign-up, giving traffic status, next departures, journey times and routes for public transport in the Paris region (metro, RER, Transilien, tram, bus), an AI assistant and a walking compass. It is not affiliated in any way with RATP, SNCF or Île-de-France Mobilités. Nothing is sold on the site, so there are no terms of sale.
2. Information for guidance only
- Data comes from Île-de-France Mobilités (open data, ODbL licence) and, for places found by the assistant, from OpenStreetMap (© its contributors, ODbL licence). It is shown as is: a delay, a cancellation or a real-time outage may be missing.
- Journey times, arrival times and suggested departure times are estimates (average waiting time, walking time worked out from distance). Allow some margin for an important appointment, a train or a flight.
- For official information, a complaint or a delay certificate, contact the transport operator.
3. The AI assistant
- Its answers are generated automatically by an artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic) from the data above. They may be incomplete or wrong: check them before relying on them.
- It is reserved for public transport in the Paris region and limited to a number of questions per day (shown in the chat), so it stays free for everyone.
- Not allowed: getting around these limits (bots, automated requests, resetting your identity over and over), trying to make it ignore its rules or produce unlawful content, or using it to harm anyone. In case of abuse, access may be limited or cut off.
4. Screenshots you send
- You can attach an image to your question (📷): it is only used to work out a place, a time or a line, then forgotten (see Privacy).
- Only send images you are allowed to share. If a screenshot shows other people's messages, name or photo, crop it if you can: only the place and the time are useful.
- No unlawful or shocking images, and none containing sensitive information (health, ID documents, bank details…).
- You keep all rights to your images; you only allow us to process them to answer your question.
5. The “Guide me” compass
- The arrow shows the direction of the stop, station or place as the crow flies, not the way to walk: it takes no account of streets, obstacles or traffic.
- Its accuracy depends on your phone's GPS and compass (buildings, metal, magnets) and can be off by several dozen metres.
- Stay aware of your surroundings: don't look at your screen while crossing, and follow the highway code.
6. Liability
The site is provided as is, with care but on a non-professional basis, with no guarantee of continuous availability or accuracy. Within the limits set by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for a delay, a missed connection, a missed appointment or any other loss linked to the use of the information on the site.
7. Intellectual property
The texts, design, illustrations and mini-game of the site belong to its publisher: please don't copy them without permission. Reused data remains subject to its licence (ODbL: Île-de-France Mobilités, OpenStreetMap contributors).
8. Links
The site contains links to other websites, whose content the publisher does not control.
9. Changes
These terms may change along with the site (new features, new rules). The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by French law. A question or a problem: write to us through the contact form, and we will first look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the rules protecting consumers. In case of any discrepancy between the French and English versions, the French version prevails.
